TERRY ACKLAND-SNOW
Chairman of the British Film Designers GuildTerry Ackland-Snow was born in December 1943 and
began his career in the Film and Television industry in the Art Department at Danziga Studios in Elstree at the age of 18.
His first job was working as a Junior Draughtsman on a TV series entitled 'Richard the Lion Heart'. The first major feature film he worked on was 'In the Cool of the Day' in 1962.
From then on he worked his way from junior positions, up to Art Director, Supervision Art Director and finally Production Designer
before deciding to set up Film Design International
to give something back to the industry he is passionate
about.
Terry has travelled and worked worldwide.
He has been in the Film and Television Industry for more
than 40 years working with some of the best Art Department
Technicians in the world. Having worked on over 80 film and
television productions, he has amassed a wealth of knowledge
and experience – all of which he applies to his Art
Direction training courses.
